You may be aware that a new rule will go into effect on January 6, 2020 that requires DOT/FMCSA-regulated employers to report to and search real-time information about commercial driver's license (CDL) and commercial learner's permit (CLP) holders' drug and alcohol program violations in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse database.

BIS is equipped and prepared to conduct these new and annual searches on your behalf. If you would like BIS to process searches in the Clearinghouse database, you will need to register, obtain a query plan, and designate BIS as your consortia/third-party administrator (C/TPA).
